Correction, Retraction & Withdrawal Policy
Cultural Arts Research and Development is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record. When errors or ethical concerns are identified in submitted or published articles, the journal will take appropriate action to correct the literature in accordance with internationally recognized publishing standards.
The journal follows the recommendations and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Post-publication updates may take the form of Corrections, Expressions of Concern, Retractions, or Withdrawals, depending on the nature and severity of the issue.
All editorial decisions regarding post-publication updates are made by the Editorial Office in consultation with editors and, when appropriate, external experts or institutional authorities.
Corrections
A Correction is issued when an error is identified in a published article that affects the accuracy of the publication but does not compromise the overall validity or reliability of the research findings.
Corrections may address issues such as:
- Minor errors in text, data, or figures
- Author affiliation or metadata inaccuracies
- Errors introduced during the production process
Requests for corrections may be submitted by authors, editors, or readers. The request should include:
- Article title
- DOI
- Journal issue or page numbers (if available)
- A clear description of the error and the proposed correction
Requests should be sent to the Editorial Office at contact@bilpub.com.
The Editorial Office will review the request and may consult the authors and editors as necessary. If the correction is approved, a Correction Notice will be published and permanently linked to the original article. The notice will clearly describe the nature of the correction while maintaining transparency of the academic record.
Expression of Concern
An Expression of Concern may be issued when serious concerns have been raised regarding the integrity or reliability of a published article, but the available evidence is insufficient to reach a definitive conclusion or an investigation is still ongoing.
Examples of situations where an Expression of Concern may be appropriate include:
- Unresolved allegations of research misconduct
- Concerns regarding data integrity that require further investigation
- Institutional investigations that have not yet been completed
In such cases, the journal may publish an Expression of Concern Notice to alert readers while the matter is under investigation. The notice will be clearly linked to the original article and will be updated or replaced if the investigation results in a correction or retraction.
Retractions
A Retraction is issued when a published article is found to contain serious errors or ethical violations that render its findings unreliable.
Articles may be retracted for reasons including, but not limited to:
- Evidence of data fabrication or falsification
- Major methodological or calculation errors that invalidate the results
- Plagiarism or substantial unattributed content
- Redundant or duplicate publication
- Copyright infringement
- Unethical research practices
- Manipulation of the peer review or citation process
Retraction decisions are made in accordance with the Retraction Guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
When an article is retracted:
- The original article will remain accessible on the journal website to preserve the scholarly record.
- The article will be clearly marked as “Retracted”.
- A Retraction Notice will be published and permanently linked to the article.
- The notice will clearly state the reason for the retraction and indicate whether the action was initiated by the authors, editors, or publisher.
Article processing charges (APCs) are generally not refundable in cases of retraction.
Withdrawal of Accepted Manuscripts
Withdrawal refers to the removal of a manuscript that has been accepted for publication but has not yet been formally published online or assigned to an issue.
The journal discourages withdrawal of accepted manuscripts except under exceptional circumstances. Authors requesting withdrawal must submit a written request explaining the reasons for withdrawal and confirming that all co-authors agree with the request.
The Editorial Office will evaluate the request and determine whether withdrawal is justified. If a withdrawal request is approved after acceptance, an administrative processing fee of USD 200 may be charged to cover editorial and production costs already incurred.
Once a manuscript is formally withdrawn:
- The manuscript will be removed from the editorial management system.
- A formal notification confirming the withdrawal will be issued to all authors.
Requests for withdrawal related to suspected academic misconduct may be subject to further investigation in accordance with the journal’s ethical policies.
The journal is committed to preserving the integrity, transparency, and reliability of the scholarly record. Any post-publication updates—including corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions—will be clearly documented and permanently linked to the relevant article to ensure transparency for readers and researchers.
