Ethical Oversight
Cultural Arts Research and Development is committed to maintaining high standards of ethical oversight in the publication of scholarly research. The journal follows internationally recognized ethical principles and best practices, including the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The Editor-in-Chief and the editorial board oversee the editorial and peer review process to ensure fairness, transparency, and academic integrity.
Research Involving Human Participants
Research involving human participants—such as interviews, surveys, ethnographic studies, cultural documentation, or community-based research—must respect the rights, dignity, and privacy of all participants.
Where applicable, authors must obtain informed consent from participants prior to data collection and publication. If the research requires approval from an institutional ethics committee or review board, authors must clearly state the name of the approving institution and the approval reference number in the manuscript.
Authors must ensure that participation in research is voluntary and that participants are fully informed about the purpose of the study and how their data will be used.
Privacy, Confidentiality, and Anonymity
Authors must protect the privacy and confidentiality of individuals involved in their research. Identifiable personal information, images, or sensitive data should only be included in publications when explicit consent has been obtained.
Researchers must ensure that patient anonymity and personal privacy are preserved where applicable. Personal data should be handled responsibly and in accordance with relevant ethical and legal standards.
Cultural Sensitivity and Community Rights
Given the journal’s focus on cultural and artistic research, authors are expected to respect cultural sensitivity and community rights when conducting and publishing research involving cultural heritage, traditional knowledge, indigenous communities, or culturally significant materials.
Authors should ensure that research is conducted responsibly and that appropriate permissions have been obtained when documenting or analyzing cultural practices, artifacts, or community knowledge.
Research Integrity and Ethical Compliance
Authors must ensure that their research is conducted and reported in accordance with recognized ethical standards. Manuscripts that involve unethical research practices, misuse of participant data, or violations of privacy or cultural rights may be rejected or withdrawn from consideration.
Editorial Oversight
The editorial office reserves the right to request documentation related to ethical approval, participant consent, or research permissions when necessary. Manuscripts that fail to meet the journal’s ethical requirements may be rejected during the editorial review process or retracted after publication if ethical concerns arise.
