Aim and Scope

Journal of Healthy Aging and Longevity (JHAL) aims to provide an international academic exchange platform for interdisciplinary research at the intersection of aging science, longevity mechanisms, and healthy aging practice. It is dedicated to advancing the theoretical and applied development of healthy aging in areas such as the decoding of biological aging processes, the optimization of longevity-promoting interventions, the enhancement of elderly quality of life, and the formulation of evidence-based policies for aging societies.

The journal focuses on publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed content covering topics including, but not limited to:

  • Biological Mechanisms of Aging and Longevity: Physiological and Molecular Drivers of Aging (e.g., Cellular Senescence, Oxidative Stress), Genetic and Environmental Regulators of Longevity, Brain and Immune System Aging (Key Determinants of Mortality Risk) , and Hormonal Dynamics in Aging Populations
  • Healthy Aging Interventions and Lifestyle Strategies: Nutrition for Longevity (e.g., High-Fiber/Low-Fat Diets, Nutrient-Dense Foods) , Exercise and Sleep Optimization for Aging Bodies, Stress Management and Cognitive Stimulation (Brain "Use-it-or-Lose-it" Principles) , and Prevention of Age-Related Chronic Diseases
  • Geriatric Healthcare and Disease Management: Diagnosis and Treatment of Aging-Associated Conditions (e.g., Alzheimer’s, Osteoporosis, Cardiovascular Diseases) , Chronic Disease Control for Cognitive Preservation , Palliative Care for Elderly Patients, and Healthcare Service Utilization by Aging Populations
  • Social Dimensions of Healthy Aging: Mitigation of Social Isolation and Loneliness , Social Support Systems and Elderly Well-Being , Intergenerational Interaction Programs, and Community Engagement for Aging Individuals
  • Technology and Innovation in Aging Care: Smart Elderly Care Technologies (e.g., Telemedicine, Smart Nursing Homes) , Digital Tools for Cognitive Training and Health Monitoring, AI-Powered Predictive Models for Elderly Health Risks, and Assistive Devices for Independent Aging
  • Policy and Governance for Aging Societies: Development of Elderly Care Policies, Evaluation of Long-Term Care Insurance Systems, Promotion of Geriatric Workforce Training, and Cross-National Comparison of Aging Society Strategies
